Villa Luce stands in a quiet, residential area of Santa Maria degli Angeli on the outskirts of Assisi, close to all the main tourist routes and just a stone’s throw from the poignant Porziuncola: this famous, mediaeval chapel, standing within the imposing Papal Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, was built on the spot where Saint Francis first understood his true vocation and where he welcomed Saint Clare to the community.
From here you can easily take a tour of Assisi and we are a short drive from the nearby SS75 motorway that will take you to all Umbria’s main historic and artistic sites and areas of natural beauty. Opposite is a large public car park, free of charge and with easy access. Motorcyclists can (on request) park their bikes in an indoor garage owned by the Villa.
You can also take a bike ride directly from Villa Luce along the numerous, regional cycleways nearby.
A short stroll will take you to the local bakeries, bars, restaurants, pizzerias, fast food chains, ice cream parlours and services (pharmacy. post office, bank, market, etc.).
A five-minute car/taxi/bus ride (1.6 km) or a 15-minute walk will take you to Assisi’s railway station.
Umbria’s “San Francesco di Assisi” airport is 10 minutes away by car/taxi (11 km).
The trade fair hub “Umbria Fiere” takes just 6 minutes by car/taxi) (3.4 km).
